Betsy Tedrow joined Country Club Trust Company in 2007 as a Senior Vice President. She brings over 30 years of trust experience.
Upon joining Country Club Trust, Betsy had dual responsibilities for trust administration and trust compliance. With the growth of Country Club Trust, Betsy has taken on a full-time role as a trust administrative officer working with trust and investment management clients.
Betsy began her trust career working as a trust examiner and held positions for 18 years at the Federal Reserve Banks of Kansas City and St. Louis, examining both large and small trust institutions throughout the Midwest and the nation. Betsy also worked as the senior compliance officer for the trust division of UMB Bank, and gained experience in employee benefits while working as a staff attorney for Fringe Benefits Designs, a Kansas City employee-benefit company.
She has spoken before many regional and national professional organizations, and has written and taught extensively on regulatory and substantive legal subjects.
In addition to bringing her compliance expertise to the Trust Company, Betsy’s experience also includes serving as corporate counsel for the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
She received both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kansas and has completed her LL.M. graduate degree in elder law at KU. Betsy is a member of the bar in both Kansas and Missouri, the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Kansas City Estate Planning Society, the Mid-America Planned Giving Council and the Fiduciary Investment Risk Management Association (FIRMA).
Her article, "Social Security Privatization in Other Countries - What Lessons Can Be Learned for the United States," was published in the Illinois Elder Law Journal.
Betsy’s community involvement includes serving on the Board of the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation. She has also served on committees for the United Way of Greater Kansas City, the City of Overland Park and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
